The KU Biodiesel Initiative is proud to be a solely student-run organization.  The collaborative environment provides an open-forum for students to contribute equally.  This encourages an efficient approach to problem solving and provides a setting for intelligent communication and ideas to evolve simultaneously with the lab and its students.  Each employee oversees a vital aspect within Testing, Logistics, Production or Operations.  In conjunction, our dedicated volunteers rotate throughout these departments and prove to be our most valued asset in the support they provide.

Most importantly, KUBI is overseen, guided and inspired by the founding faculty member Dr Susan Williams.  She continues to share her expertise and passion for biofuels as the lab's Principal Investigator and places the future of the initiative into the hands of the students.  This bold freedom, to learn through exploration and mistakes, leads to new innovations and ensures the future success of the program.
